Ignite is for ALL teenagers ages 13-19. At youth group teens will experience an opportunity to hang out with other teens, participate in small groups where they can input there views into the discussion, worship God together with other teens and most importantly teens get to read, hear and then respond to the word of God!
When We Meet: Every Wednesday from 6:30-9:00 pm in the fellowship hall
Starting in March of 2008, once a month on a Friday night we will be having a worship/prayer service with a short devotion called “Saturate” for ages 11-21 from 7-8:30pm in the fellowship hall.
Once a month we have a game night including: (Pool table, Ping Pong, Foose Ball, Air Hockey, PS2, Xbox...etc.)
At different times through out the year we will take the teens to events outside of our regular Wednesday night youth service. Some things we have attended in the past include: (Winterfest, Baltimore Blast Christian youth night, The Power Team, Bowling Lock-in, Youth Luau, Purple Door, Laser Tag, Putt Putt, Concerts…etc.)
One of the things we emphasize at Ignite is serving God by using the talents and things he has given to us, to serve God and people. We have a youth worship team where teens participate in leading worship every Wednesday for Ignite and Sunday evening for our evening church service. Some of our teens participate in (Temple Dance) a ministry for girls to worship the Lord in the area of dance led by Sister Shirley Deboard. Some of our teens participate in (Deer Feet); a teenage drama team led by Sister Julie Allen. Other area’s where teens have plugged into our church are in our usher/hospitality ministry led by Pastor Shawn O’Brien, Servants Hands (an outreach ministry that reaches out to the lost, hurting & homeless) led by Brother Tom Sanders. They are also found in helping to teach the children in our church which is led by our Children’s directors The Hawthorne’s.
We love to see teenagers grow in their faith….and last but not least we desire to seek & worship the Lord with all of our heart!
We hope that what the Lord is doing in Ignite; it will spread like wildfire through out our community and even to the rest of the world!
